MUKA SPACE proudly debuts its first theatre play FIERY FAMILY, a Malaysian comedy of manners…without the manners. FIERY FAMILY unveils the secret side of so-called educated and civilised people. This one-act comedy was inspired by Tony Award-winner, Yasmina Reza’s Broadway black comedy “God of Carnage”. The Malaysian premiere of FIERY FAMILY, adapted into a Malaysian Chinese dialect and directed by award-winning director, Dr. Deric Gan (director of the multi-award-winning theatre play, Dear Elena Sergeevna) will be staged at Pentas 2, The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (klpac) from 3rd April to 6th April 2014.
The 90-minute comedy is about two couples who meet to discuss a playground fight between their two children. With the pressures of parenting in Malaysia and the stresses on family life, this play will definitely resonate with local audiences as well, leaving everyone laughing cathartically.
